Synopsis / description

A documentary film capturing the celebrations of the San Juan festivities in Arrasate / Mondragón. The film opens with panoramic views of the town in Gipuzkoa, and goes on to show the town’s most distinctive buildings, such as the parish church of San Juan Bautista, the Church of San Francisco, the Portalón and the Town Hall in the Plaza Mayor. We see a group of txistularis (flute players) and drummers parading through the streets of Arrasate / Mondragón, followed by a crowd of young people. We also see players taking part in a match at a fronton court, followed by a game of pelota handball. The film ends with night-time footage of a firework display.
