This is a documentary commissioned by the Caja de Ahorros from Azkona Films in 1944. This report was intended to be the first in a series entitled ‘Spanish Charitable Organisations’, but no further episodes were produced. In the opening minutes of the film, the buildings of various branches of the Caja de Ahorros are shown, along with a group of women at a bank counter holding their savings books. Subsequently, the social initiatives sponsored by the Caja de Ahorros are detailed: the Gota de Leche initiative; the halls of residence for female students or workers; the Pedernales school camp for children in poor health; and the Casa del Niño in Bermeo.
